Good afternoon and welcome to further action from the IPL. I'm Mel (@MissMelanie_H) for the match between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Rajasthan Royals. Both teams have had to replace their captains after the ball tampering scandal and will now be led by Kane Williamson and Ajinkya Rahane respectively. Rajasthan were also banned for two years so would like a good comeback.

TOSS: SRH win the toss and decide to bowl. We have some British interest as both Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler play for the Royals. However no Alex Hales or Chris Jordan for the Sunrisers.

RR: Ajinkya Rahane, D'Arcy Short, Rahul Tripathi, Sanju Samson, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Ben Laughlin, K Gowtham, Shreyas Gopal, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jaydev Unadkat

SRH: Shikhar Dhawan, Kane Williamson, Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Yusuf Pathan, Shakib Al Hasan, Wriddhiman Saha, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Billy Stanlake, Siddarth Kaul

Nearly ready for the start then - Ajinkya Rahane and D'Arcy Short come out to the crease to face the bowling of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

WICKET! RR 6/1 (1) Kumar gets swing straight away and Rahane gets away with a single. Short starts his IPL career with a boundary. Lovely shot from him. Mix-up and they are not able to get another run... However this time Short may be run out. The umpires go upstairs and he is out by a mile with a direct hit!

RR 11/1 (2) New man in is Sanju Samson and Billy Stanlake takes the second over. He bowls FAST and is getting bounce already. Samson gets him away to start with a two. He get another one through for three runs.

RR 21/1 (3) Samson starts the next over with a four past the diving fielder. He then adds another glorious shot a couple of balls later.

RR 27/1 (4), Rahane 7*, Samson 15* Shakib Al Hasan takes over the bowling. Rahane looks a a couple of balls and then gets one away for his first boundary of the day. They add some singles to complete the over.

RR 41/1 (5) Stanlake comes in from the other end and starts with a full toss. The fielder on the rope can save three runs. The next ball is a boundary though. Good fielding saves another two runs in outfield. The final ball is up and over from a leading edge for four.
