Valero Texas Open

Well hello there. How the divil are you ?

I’m @EmmettKeane and this is the Valero Open from America somewhere. I’m meant to be on from 10 and this means we join the action on the 15th. Good stuff for all of us.

It’s between the front 2 it seems. Despite Skt Sports insistence. This ends in a playoff.

Zach Johnson isn’t on par 3 16th. He has 176 yards and a 7 iron in hand. The usual sawn off follow through leaves him 20feet left and pin high.

Mullinax now. It’s long and right which would normally be okay but this green has a bunker in the middle of it. Some say it’s an homage to the 6th at Riviera. I say both are only missing a windmill.

The greenskeeper has obviously had a word with Mullinax. He should be chipping it over the (derivative) bunker but he’s putting it.

He’s made a good job of it to be fair. Putting through fringe and rough to 3 feet. Landry is now also putting from the rough on 16. Stop sniggering at the back. It’s a bit firm but he’ll have 4 feet for par.

Landry has, as I said, 4 feet for par. Should be straightforward.

It is. Par on 16 and he’s 1 clear with 2 to play. Mullinax taps in to stay 1 back. Joaquin Niemann is in 5th on his own as it stands. It his first professional tournament for the former Amateur world No. 1. One for the horse tracker.

Nobody else matters so we will concentrate on the back grouping.
