Morning! It's Scottish rugby's big day out as bowls, shield and cups are handed out at BT Murrayfield on the aptly named 'Silver Saturday'. I'm Roddy Graham and I'm going to try my best not to embarrass myself from the press box as I cheer on Hawick Quins in the Shield final against back-to-back, reigning champions Carrick RFC. Minute-by-minute updates from 12noon. But only one way we can start... CUE THE MUSIC!!

Team news ahead of kickoff in 30 minutes time. All set up for an excellent game of rugby over the 80 minutes.

In the BT Bowl final, it's Wigtownshire 3-12 Ross Sutherland with little over 5 minutes to play. Stadium starting to fill up nicely too. Reckon the noise from the Hawick contingent will reach fever pitch come 12 o'clock!

View from the press box isn't too shabby either 😀

It has finished 12-3 to Ross Sutherland in the BT Bowl final against Wigtownshire. Oh, and we have a streaker on the pitch too! THANKFULLY he's got a pair of boxers on! Kneeslide by the touchline to finish off with. Yip, that's Scottish rugby for you :D

Later in the day, there's the Sarah Beeney Cup final between Hillhead/Jordanhill and Watsonians, the BT Cup final between Melrose and Stirling County before Edinburgh and Glasgow Warriors do battle for the 1872 Cup. Have to give huge credit to Scottish Rugby for putting all this together. Wonderful occasion.

This is a bit of a family affair for me today. My wife Sarah is the Quins physio (well, when she's not having a maternity break!) and my nephew Jack will be pitchside as one of the ball boys. Here's hoping he doesn't run onto the pitch at full time in his boxers like that other fella...

ROUTES TO THE FINAL Carrick reached the final by getting past Strathendrick (65-5), Allan Glen's (40-19), Uddingston (75-7), Annan (44-20) and Kilmarnock (36-14) before overcoming Alloa 20-10 in a close semi final. Hawick Quins had victories over Duns (43-12), Langholm (34-5) and Berwick (22-19) before an outstanding semi-final win against Barnton 32-14. Kick off is just 10 minutes away. The atmosphere is starting to rise. The Carrick lot to my left are in fine voice. Sure the Hawick support will drown them out by game time!

Here come the teams! Carrick in light blue, Quins in the black and yellow. The time is now to make yourselves a hero lads! COME ON THE QUINS!

KICK OFF Aiden Strachan gets things underway at BT Murrayfield. The Carrick ultras to my left having a party. Early kick for Gav Douglas, who doesn't find touch from his 22.
