Judd Trump

John Higgins - Session 2

Good morning. Mel (@MissMelanie_H) here for further action from the quarter-finals at the World Championships. I am going to be focused on Judd Trump v John Higgins (with Trump leading 5-3) but I will also provide updates on Ding Junhui and Barry Hawkins (Hawkins needing two frames to win).

JT 0 - 0 JH (5-3) Rob Walker gets the boys on the baize. First John Higgins and Judd Trump before Barry Hawkins and Ding Junhui.

JT 0 - 38 JH (5-3) Sorry about that guys - minor systems issues. Higgjns pots a long red and is on the pink before starting a good break.

JT 5 - 38 JH (5-3) He then gets a poor contact and leaves Trump in the balls. He runs into the pack from the brown and has everything on.

JT 0 - 0 JH (6-3) Trump levels up the scores in this frame and then clears the remaining reds and colours to take the first frame with a clearance to the black of 89.

Meanwhile: Ding 0 - 40 Hawkins (5-11)

JT 0 - 0 JH (6-3) Hopefully my computer will behave from here... Higgins catches the pink when playing safe and they are tip tapping around the reds. They go for the re-rack.

JT 0 - 7 JH (6-3) Higgins has a chance to pot a long red and the reds are reasonably well spread. He pots the reds and is on the blue. The black is on the left hand cushion and the pink tied up a little.

JT 0 - 31 JH (6-3) He over screws a shot when trying to get on a red. However he can pot it with the rest and is on the pink. That means that the pink goes on the black spot to help out the break.

JT 0 - 52 JH (6-3) He gets a big bounce off the cushion but the red is still on. He frees some more reds but there are still a couple on the bottom cushion that could do with work. He then gets a kick on the pink and is not on his next red. There is one to the right corner thankfully.
