John Higgins

Mark Williams - Session 2

Good evening and welcome back to coverage of the World Championship final between John Higgins and Mark Williams. Williams started off this afternoon like a train going 4-0 up, but Higgins was able to drag it back to 5-3 at the end of the first session. Tonight we have another 9 frames in race to 18.

JH 0 - 0 MW (3-5) The players are ready and Rob Walker gets the boys on the baize. First Mark Williams and then John Higgins.

JH 0 - 0 MW (3-5) Handshake before Williams breaks off in frame 9.

JH 0 - 1 MW (3-5) Williams goes for a double to start the scoring tonight and he gets it. He is on the black and nudges into the reds from it. However the black stays up.

JH 0 - 9 MW (3-5) Higgins jaws the red he is left but leaves a red on for Williams. He pots it and then swerves to pot the black. He is not on his next red but gets the cue ball back to baulk. Too thin and pacy from Higgins leaving a red for Williams. Missed.

JH 22 - 9 MW (3-5) Higgins is straight in potting the red that Williams missed. He is working around the loose reds for the moment. He has the black, pink and blue available. He splits them a little from the black but then misses a red into the right middle.

JH 39 - 9 MW (3-5) Wonderful long pot to the left corner from Higgins. He is on the black and attempted to contact the reds. He has a red on though and then opens them further from the black as well. He has one to the right middle.

JH 46 - 10 MW (3-5) And as I type, he is not on his next red... Jinxes starting early tonight! Poor safety from Higgins leaving a red to left middle. Down it goes.

JH 46 - 48 MW (3-5) Excellent recovery shot from Williams on a long red and he is on the brown. He cannon a red to make sure that he can pot everything on the table. He draws ahead with the green.

JH 0 - 0 MW (3-6) He clears the table to extend his lead to three again.
