John Higgins

Mark Williams - Session 4

Good evening. Mel (@MissMelanie_H) here for the final session of the World Championship. After four frames this afternoon, it looked like we might not have too much of a final session but Higgins came back after the interval winning three out of four frames. That means that Williams needs 3 frames and Higgins will need to win the session 8-2 to win the title.

It's been a long Championship but it has been so open throughout with shock winners (and losers). Every match has been intriguing in it's own way and the final may still go the whole way. I have been around doing comms for most of the tournament (plus the qualifiers) so I will be pleased to be able to catch up on sleep (well after a couple of appointments tomorrow)!

Williams has "threatened" to do his press conference naked if he wins... Let's hope they finish after the watershed if that happens! LOL!

JH 0 - 0 MW (10-15) We are ready for the last 10 (potentially) frames of the World Championships. Mark Williams and John Higgins come down the stairs to re-commence battle.

JH 0 - 0 MW (10-15) They shake hands and then Higgins breaks off in frame 26.

JH 0 - 1 MW (10-15) Williams misses the long red that he is left on from the break off. Higgins catches the wrong red and leaves a chance to the left middle pocket for Williams. Fantastic pot and he is on the black but it is very hard. He misses it.

JH 8 - 1 MW (10-15) Higgins is in with a pot to the green pocket knowing he has the black over the left corner pocket. He opens the pack of reds from there and is on one.

JH 35 - 1 MW (10-15) He has the black, pink and blue to work with a plenty of reds that will pot. He is building a steady lead but is slightly out of position on the pink.

JH 67 - 1 MW (10-15) Not a problem with the pot for follow up red. Back in prime position on the black from there. He pots a red for frame ball and is on the black.

JH 0 - 0 MW (11-15) Start as we meant to go tonight with a clearance of 131.
